2011 Asian Cities Chess Round 7: Seoul score 1st victory ; Shi Jiazhuang, Astana maintain 1-2 positions.

An 11-year old girl and an 11-year old boy led Seoul,South Korea to upset Singapore 2.5 : 1.5 in the seventh round of the Asian Cities Chess Championship;
even as top seed Shi Jiazhuang and Astana of Kazakhstan maintain their 1- 2  positions with only two rounds remaining. 11 year-old Kim Taegyong of Seoul defeated Tan Tze Lin also 11 year old on Board 3 while Bae Jisoo won against Lew Shi Hong in a battle between teams that invest more on youth development. Top seed Shi Jiazhuang edges Tagaytay City of the Philippines 2:5 : 1.5 in a battle between the top two seed that play using only four players.   GM Yunguo Wan hands GM John Paul Gomez his first loss in 42 moves of a Sicilian Dragon. The other three matches ended in a draw. Wesley So finally abandon the Sicilian defense that cost him a loss and a draw against much lower,lower rated opponents . Playing black So used the Caro Can defense advance variation against Yu Yangyi ,which resulted in a draw after 29 moves. Astana defeated host Jakarta 2.5: 1.5 with GM Rinat Jumabayev scoring the much needed point against Tirta Purnawa winning in 60 moves of a Semi-Slav.
