Twenty year old Adrian Perez of San Sebastian College and Narciso Gumila of EARIST won against their respective opponent to share the lead after 5 rounds

The four leaders take it easy on round 4 as the top two boards ended in a quick draw allowing top seed Efren Arguelles to join the leaderboard.

Teli Chess International Tournament 2011: Barus Cerdas takes title!


GM Barus Cerdas of Indonesia score a total of 7.5 points, one half point ahead of Merab Gagunashvili of Georgia;

2011 Philippine Inter-Province Chess Team Championship: A 2744 performance rating for Wesley So

GM Wesley So scores a perfect 9 points out of nine games to captures the Board 1 gold medal in the 2011 National Inter-Province Chess Team Championship held in Cabagnot Training Center, Kalibo, Aklan,Philippines. So defeated Jimmy Jimenez (unrated), NM Rodrigo Atotubo(2312); GM Mark Paragua (2547) ; FM Sander Severino (2344) ; GM John Paul Gomez (2538) ; FM Jony Habla (2333) ; FM Roderick Nava (2397) ; David Elorta ( 2367) ; and Paulo Bersamina (2097) for a 100% performance in the event sponsored and hosted by the provincial government of Aklan. Wesley So receives  2,000 pesos (47 US$) prize for individual Board 1 champion.
