2010 "ALL IN SPORTS" CHESS TOURNAMENT

Top seed GM Wesley So leadthe early winners  in the 2010 "ALL IN SPORTS" Chess Tournament held in the PSC Canteen,RMSC.Joining So were GM's Rogelio Antonio Jr;Darwin Laylo;Mark Paragua;Jayson Gonzales;Buenaventura Villamayor and Ronald Dableo.
2010 Palarong NCR Elementary Boy's champion Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar defeated Ruel Dela Cruz on Board 12 to  lead two other kiddie players for the early lead,reigning  national under-12 age group champion Paulo Bersamina trounced Jess Llorca while another 12 year old Jerad Docena beat Cely Rose Diwa.Olympians Shercila and sister Sherily Cua also hurdle their 1st round assignment.Shercila won against Luke Matthew De Leon while Sherily defeated Judito Colangco.

Barangay Santolan tops Malabon Chess Association Blitz Team Tournament

Barangay Santolan blanked Barangay Bayan-bayanan 4:0 in the final round to capture the MCA Blitz Chess Team Tournament held in Plaza Hulong Duhat,Malabon City. Frederick Bernabe trounced Wilfredo Teodoro,while Marvin Salvador escaped with a win when Ernie Baltazar's flag fell before he execute a mate in two.Alfredo David and Arman Mendoza defeated Jethro Serrano and Marvin Serna . Barangay Longos blanked Barangay San Agustin to finished 2nd with 13 points.Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar,Longos board 1 player sacrificed two pawns for an attack that caused Louie dela Cruz to loss by time forfeit.Victories by Ed Chu,Aaron Lorenzo and Kagawad Charlie Tan makes it  4: 0. Barangay San Agustin finisshed 3rd.

MANILAN'S CLINCHED SECONDARY GIRL'S TITLE

  • Mikee Charlene Suede and Cherry Ann Mejia of Manila  score six points each to clinch the gold medal and the two slots for NCR girl's team in the just concluded 2010 NCR Palarong Pambansa elimination tournament held in Aurora Quezon Elementary School.Quezon City finished second with 9.5 points to bag the silver medal,while Pasig bag the bronze medal with 8.5 points.Caloocan City join Marikina and Tagig-Pateros in fourth to six place with 8 points.

National Arbiter Ernie Baltazar officiates the events.
