Bacolod City's Alekhine Nouri toppled top seed International Master Jingyao Tin at the start of the Eastern Asia Juniors Chess Championships being held at Tagaytay City,Philippines.A total of twenty two players are participating in the boys division with fourteen coming from the host Philippines.Philippines top bet IM Paolo Bersamina was held into a draw by untitled Muhammad Kamalsyah (1879) of Indonesia.The Indonesian top bet FM Yoseph Theolifus Taher(2369) and FM Novendra Priasmoro won against Jarvey Labanda and Hhaince Patrick De Leon respectively. Also winning their 1st round assignment were FM Maung Kyaw Zaw Hei Maung (2361)of Myanmar and FM Eu Wen Aron Teh(2285) ;Daniel Quizon (2140) , CM Stephen Rome Pangilinan ;Jeth Romy Morado; John Marvin Miciano and Kyz Lantada of Marikina City. Chess Tounament for the Junior (20 years old and below)
The FIDE World Youth U14, U16 & U18 Chess Championships 2017 (open and girls) will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, from 16th of September (arrival) till 26th of September (departure) 2017. The Championships will be organized and held under the auspices of the Uruguayan Chess Federation (FUA), the Confederation of Chess for Americas (CCA) and the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
1st FIDE World Cadet Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2017. The championships will be held in Minsk, Belarus. The dates are 1st of June (arrivals) to 5th of June (departures) 2017.
Each federation can register unlimited number of players in each of the categories ‐ under 8, 10, and 12 (boys and girls). A player must not have reached his 8th, 10th, 12th birthday, respectively, before January 1st of the year 2017.
