The much awaited chess events among Manila's K1-K12 public school will start on Monday. September 16, 2013: the 2013-2012 Manila Division of City Schools Division Meet. 84 champion players from the 6 District of Manila will fight in a single round robin in all 4 division. The winner and the runner up in each division will qualify to the 2013-2014 Palarong Maynila Chess Meet.
The DCS Manila Division Meet is held every years. John Roqui Edaguio of District I and Eliseo Budoso were the top two winners last year in the Boys K7-K12 division while Mytzka Mendoza of District V and Mariel Salvador of District VI won the Girls K7-K12 division.
