Marc Baltazar defeated top seed Sammy Benitez and second seed Christian Dela Cruz in the 4th and 5th round to rule the 2018 Caloocan City 4th Alfredo Dacles Cup Chess Tournament held February 17,2018 at Dagat-dagatan Youth Club basketball court. Marc won the P2,000.00 + trophy ,three players Christian Dela Cruz, Joyce Polon and Debbie Valdez finished tied for 2nd to 4th place and split the combined P2,300.00 ,while five players tied for 5th to 9th place each receiving P500.00 . Six (6) years old Marcus Kiel Baltazat a kinder student at Salvation Army (Caloocan City) cop the gold in the Under 10 division Jeremiah David got the silver while the bronze medal went to seven year old Lawrence Cristobal ,each receiving P300.00. Philippine Blitz Chess Association President Ernie Baltazar officiated the event with Arbiter Kevin Baltazar .Tournament Director Andy Novicio awards the medal in the under 10 division,.Barangay Captain Alfredo Dacles do the ceremonial move with the youngest participants 6 years old Marcus Kiel Baltazar.
