GM Wesley So scores 6.5 points out of seven games to rule the 2012 Luneta Open  Chess Tournament held in Lapu lapu Plaza,Luneta Park ,Saturday April 28,2012. So won against GM Rogelio Barcenilla,GM Mark Paragua, IM Jan Emmanuel Garcia ;untitled Nelson Mariano III, Marc Co and Steven Crenz Fulcher. His only draw is against GM John Paul Gomez in the 6th round.A total of 123 players including seven Grand Masters, four International Master and two FIDE master participated in the events . GM John Paul Gomez and Nelson Mariano III shares 2nd-3rd place with six points one half point behind the winner. Involved in a seven way tied for 4th -10th place with 5.5 points were IM Jan Emmanuel Garcia, GM Rogelio Antonio Jr, NM Edgar Garma, Ryan Dungca, GM Mark Paragua, FM Roderick Nava and GM Darwin Laylo. Former Philippine Christian University coach Gene Salmorin score 4.5 points good enough for the top senior while Timothy So Kua scores 5 points to cop the top Junior performer.  So take home the top prize of P 15,000.00.
