Rustam Kazimdshanov,of Uzbekistan wins gold in Men's Rapid Chess!
The Men's Rapid Chess competition of the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou,China ended with a brilliant victory for Rustam Kazimdshanov of Uzbekistan. He finished undefeated with a score of 7.5/9 the same score of the top seed Le Quang Liem of Vietnam. Kazimdshanov won the tie break by the winner over the other.Le Quang Liem settle for the silver medal. GM Bu Xiangzhi of host China got the bronze medal wit 6.5/9 scores,the same score of 2006 Doha Asian Games gold medalist Murtas Kashgaleyevof Kazakshtan. Bu also won the tie break by the winner over the other rules. Meanwhile, the Philippines top bet 17 years old GM Wesley So,seeded number 5 at the start of the tournament and GM Joey Antonio inserted in the line up ,fails to surpass or even match the 8th place finish of GM Darwinn Laylo in the 2006 Doha Asian Games edition.So finished 14th over-all,while Antonio place 13th with 5.5 points .

World Youth Chess Championship 2010; 15 out of 36 Medals for Asian Players!!!
Asian Chess Players gather 15 out of 36 medals at stake in the
2010 World Youth Chess Championship held 19,October-31 2010 at Halkidiki,Greece. The strong European Chess Players got 16 medals. Players from the American Continents got only 5 medals.

16th ASIAN Games; Chess Competition starts 13th November,2010
Competition in the 16th Asian Games will start on November 13,2010 in Guangzhou,China. Competition will be in Men & Women Sections. Individual Competition will be Rapid games with 25 minutes and 10 seconds increments for each players scheduled 13th-16th November,2010. Team Competition 17th - 26th ,November 2010.Time control will be 90 minutes + 30 seconds increments for each players.

Philippine's Marie Antoinette San Diego , 4th ASEAN Primary Schools Sports Olympiad Girls Champ
Marie Antoinette San Diego,2010 Palarong Pambansa ,gold medalist, won the 4th ASEAN Primary Schools Individual Girl's title held in Indonesia, November 5-10,2010. San Diego finished with 4 points out of 5 games to edge Vietnam's Nguyen Thanh Thuy Thien in a tie break.

District II Win Golds at the 2010 Manila Division Meet
The District II High School Boy's and Girl's team clinched the gold medal at the 2010 Manila Division of City Schools ChessMeet held in Manila Science High School October 4-9,2010.The team of District II High School Boy,s (Board 1 Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar,Mattew Palomata,Ares Anthony Ocampo,Jules Salazar and Marc Kristoffer Baltazar) won four matches and one draw.Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar ,12-year old 1st year High School student of F.G.Calderon High School allowed only one draw through out the tournament to emerged Board 1 Champion. He defeated Nesruben Usay (D-III);Charles Somera(D-V);John Reiner Ignacio (D-I) and Jan Ron Rubias (D-IV) with the only draw against District VI Jefferson Saltorio. District II High School Girl,s team sweep all it matchess to secured the gold medal.Jean Paula delaCruz of Lakandula High School emerged Board 2 champion while Angelica Salac of F.G. Calderon High School took the gold medal in Board 3. Ma. Mae Belle San Juan of Ramon Magsaysay High School(Espana) won the gold in Board 1 as District II top board 1 player Jan Ira dela Cruz lost to D-I Alyssa Magpayo.Another round robin among the gold medalist in all board to select the top two boys and girls that will battle the top two private school champion in the Manila meet. Board 1 champion Melwyn Kenneth easily defeated Board 2 champion Matthew Palomata,Board 3 champion John Ray Edaquio of D-I and Board 4 championMichael Jadullo of D-5 to crowned over-all champion. Matthew Palomata finished second.In the Girls division Board 2 Jean Paula dela Cruz defeated Board 1 Champion Mae-Bell San Juan and board 3 champion Angelica Salac for the over-all Girls crown ,she will be joined by Mae-Belle San Juan in the Manila Meet against the top 2 players from the private schools.

F.G. Calderon HS wins 2010 ManilaDistrict Meet
F.G. Calderon High School led by brothers Melwyn Kenneth and Marc Kristoffer Baltazar won the 2010 Manila District Meet. The team finished two points ahead of Sergio Osmena High School. The tournament were held in Lakandula High School, Tondo,Manila. The time control was one hour and five minute for the games.The last round saw the clash between the two leading teams,F.G. Calderon High School and F.Torres High School. Melwyn Kenneth did his job and defeated Rogie Ford Manalad with black.Marc Kristoffer Baltazar also did well by beating Jayson Quimson also with the black pieces.Arnuel Sevilla did the same against Adolfo Jacobo in Board three.Ares Ocampos prevented a shut-up win for Calderon HS by beating John Co in Board 4.
