2011 Shell Grand Finals: Grand shows by speaker on Opening program!!

It was a grand show by the guest speakers at the grand opening of the 2011 Shell National Youth Active Chess Championships Grand Finals held in SM Megamall Event Center in Mandaluyong City. GM Eugene Torre wows the crowd by singing a tagalog song and again his timely advice to all aspiring chess players that in order to succeed in chess, one must eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. One speaker told the audience that one needs 10,000 hours of playing chess to reach the master strenght. If calculation is right, that is equivalent to 30 years of playing chess, if one played one hour a day. (365 days/1 year @1 hour/day).
After a very longggggg opening program that lasted for almost two hours, that reset the morning game,  the Chief Arbiter suddenly announced that six(6) rounds will be played instead of the scheduled five (5) rounds for the day as agreed in the technical meeting the night before in the dinner meeting held at Mang Inasal in Robinson,Mandaluyong City. So six rounds will be played Saturday and three(3) rounds Sunday for the Boys Division and six(6) rounds Saturday and four(4) rounds Sunday for the Girls Division.
