7th International Chess Festival Moscow Open 2011 Round 7: Zhou Weiqi, Igor Kovalenko joins Nikolai Kavanov for the lead; Philippine's Gomez and Barbosa 1 point behind

China's Zhou Weiqi defeated 18th seed Pavel Kotsur in 40 moves of a French defense,New York system while IM Igor Kovalenko of Ukraine won against
FM Karen Grigoryan to share the lead with overnight leader GM Nikolai Kabanov of Russia who drew his match with GM Maxim Matlakov. Ten players shares 4th-13th place led by six Russian players including top seed GM Denis Khismatullin who won against Gm Andrei Kharlov in only 35 moves of a Queens Gambit Accepted.; Gm Maxim Turov, IM Anton Demchenko;GM Maxim Matlakov;Im Aleksei Pridorozni and untitled Vladimir Belous. Other six pointers were GM Farrukh Amoratov of Tajikistan,GM Yu Yangyi of China ;GM Aleksandr Lenderman of USA and Kirill Kuderinov of Kazakhstan.Twenty seven players scores 5.5 points including Philippines GM John Paul Gomez who was held to a draw by untitled Vasily Usmanov(2196),Gomez eked out a draw despite a lone rook and King against Usmanov 3 connected passed pawn and a Bishop.IM Oliver Barbosa (PHI) improve  his score to 5.5 points after beating untitled Valentin Bobrov.
