2012 ASIAN Seniors and ASIAN Amateur Chess Championships

 The Oceania Chess Confederation (OCC), on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation, the Australian Chess Federation and the Federation Internationale Des Echecs (FIDE), invites chess players to participate in the 2012 ASIAN SENIORS Chess Championship and in the 2012 ASIAN AMATEUR Chess Championship to be held in Parramatta, Sydney, Australia from 1st to 8th June 2012.

The ASIAN AMATEUR Championship is open to all Asian players, approved by their National Federation, who 
have a FIDE rating below 2100 or are without a FIDE Rating. Players must not hold any GM, WGM, IM, WIM, FM 
or WFM title and must not have been rated 2100 or above during the past two years. The tournament will be played 
over 9 rounds under the swiss pairing system. The event will be FIDE-rated and played under the FIDE time control 
of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move starting from move one.  


The ASIAN SENIORS Championship is open to Asian senior players, approved by their National Federation. 
Male participants must have been born in 1957 or before. Female participants must have been born in 1962 or 
before. The tournament will be played over 9 rounds under the swiss pairing system. The event will be FIDE-rated 
and played under the FIDE time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
