Gold for Caloocan City at the 2012 Batang Pinoy Chess Tournament

Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar (left) against Louis Ubalde of Quezon City in last round action of the Standard Chess event Batang Pinoy 2012  Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar, a 3rd year high school student of Colegio de San Juan de Letran gave Caloocan City it's first gold medal in the Batang Pinoy 2012 held in Marikina Convention Center, Concepcion 2,Marikina City. Melwyn Kenneth Lead from start to finish, finishing with a perfect score of 5 out of five for the gold medal. Unrated Joshua Arias of host MarikinaCity won the silver medal while top seed Jerad Docena of Pasay City took the bronze medal. Baltazar crushed the King's Indian Defense of Jerad Docena in their last round championship duel.
