2010 Penang Open Chess: Filipino invasion !!
The Filipinos occupies the top spots after 7 rounds of the 2010 Penang Open held in Penang City Hall,Penang fro December 8-12 2010. IM Yves Ranola draw with compatriot IM Oliver Barbosa while IM Oliver Dimakiling won against FM Julius De Ramos on the top two tables.The 3 Filipino IM's are 1 point ahead of 10 players led by GM Murshed Niaz of Bangladesh,Edward Lee Kim Han of Malaysia,Benjamin Foo of Singapore,FM's Haridas Pascua;Julius deRamos and Christopher Castellano all of the Philippines.Two other Filipino players are tied for 14-19th place Davao', Reggie Olay and University of the East Nelson Mariano III with 4 points. National Master 12-years old Paolo Bersamina scores 3.5 points for 30th place.
