GM Wesley So: early tournament; The 2003 Manila Youth Game Champion: Wesley So

9-years old Wesley So representing Sampaloc,Distrct V defeated reigning Manila Elementary Boys Champion Marc Kristoffer Baltazar of F.G. Calderon Integrated School to complete his excellent scores of five wins,no draws and no loss and bag the gold medal in the 2003 Manila Youth Games Chess Competition  (under-10 Boys Division).So, earlier defeated Robby Fopalan and 5-years old Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar, a kinder student  of F.G.Calderon Integrated Schools.So is accompanied by his father coach and trainer Michael Carino.Marc Kristoffer Baltazar won the silver medal with 3.5 points and 8.0 tie break scores and Fopalan the bronze medal also with 3.5 points and 7.5 tie-break scores.
