Gomez,takes solo lead, Laylo , six others shares 2nd -8th place; Le Quang Liem still solo leader in Group "A"

GM John Paul Gomez of the Philippines defeated four day leader Alexei Gavrilov of Russia to take the lead after 5 rounds of the 2011 Aeroflot Group "B" for players with FIDE rating of 2549 and below. Seven players shares 2nd -
8th place with four points including Darwin Laylo (PHI); ZHao Xue(CHN); Dorian Rogozenco (ROU);Wen Yang (CHN) Tigran Kotanjian (ARM);Bayarsaikhan Gundavaa(MGL) and Alexei Gavrilov (RUS).  Moscow Open  champion Vladimir Belous beat IM Oliver Dimakiling of the Philippines to lead 12 players with 3.5 points.Another Filipino bet IM Richard Bitoon score a full point against  WFM Indira Bajt of Slovakia. IM Oliver Barbosa won against Daniel Malek to increase his score to 2.5 points.  
I n  Group "A"  Le Quang Liem of Vietnam was held to a draw by Evgeny Tomashevsky of Russia in 45 moves of a Gruenfeld defense, Russian System, but still a solo leader after nearest pursuer GM Dmitry Jakovenko and Rauf Mamedov had a grandmaster draw with their respective opponents.Jakovenko split the point with Mikhail Kobalia in only 17 moves of a Semi-Slav while Mamedov call it a draw with Nikita Vitiugov in only 12 moves of a French Defense.
